UKAS Testing
We offer a range of UKAS-accredited testing methods to support our customers via our Group's laboratory.
The scope of testing covers various areas with additional services to ensure our metallurgists provide comprehensive support.
Metallurgical Analysis & Corrosion Testing:
- Metallurgical Evaluation to ASTM A923 Method A
- Phase Balance Analysis to ASTM E562
- Corrosion Testing to ASTM G48 + A923 Method C
- Grain Size Analysis to ASTM E112
Charpy Impact Testing:
We provide Charpy V notch impact testing utilising a 300J impact tester (to ASTM E23 & A370, respectively). We also offer the facility for cryogenic cooling down to minus 60°C.
Our services also include tensile testing up to 30 tonnes (ASTM E8, A370 & ASTM B557, BS EN ISO 6892-1 & BS EN 2002-1) and elevated temperature tensile testing up to 200°C (ASTM E21 & BS EN ISO 6892-2).
Our physical property testing services include magnetic permeability testing, Hocking electrical conductivity testing, Fischer ferrite testing and GAMMA-SCOUT radiation detection (Geiger Counter - not UKAS accredited).
We use a Spectro Maxx Spark Emission Spectrometer for analysing iron, copper, nickel, aluminium and titanium base materials to BS EN 14726, ASTM E1086, ASTM E415, ASTM A751, ASTM E1251 & BS EN 15079 (not UKAS accredited).
Hardness testing includes Vickers, Rockwell and Brinell. Weldment assessment testing is also available. Our Group's laboratory also provides a range of additional services, including material investigations.
